About Ben
Ben Auxier is a native of Kansas City, MO now living and working in Chicago. He is a professional actor, improviser, and writer with a passion for continuous creation.
After graduating with a BFA in acting, his work in KC included frequent performances with the Heart of America Shakespeare Festival, The Living Room Theatre, and Theatre for Young America, among many others.
His commercial work includes spots for Dairy Queen, The Missouri Lottery, Mediacom, and a long-running position as comedic commercial spokesman "Mazuma Mike" for Mazuma Credit Union.
Ben has over 15 years of improv experience, including teaching experience, numerous competition victories, invitations to several national festivals, and formerly holding the position of Artistic Director at The KC Improv Company, where he oversaw a cast of over 30 producing 5+ shows per week.
He is the co-writer of the dark comedy play HACKS and the musical comedy The Ballad of Lefty & Crabbe, which has won "Best of" designations at both KC Fringe and The Chicago Musical Theatre Festival. His other writing credits include marketing copy, songwriting, and plenty of sketch comedy both live and filmed. His comedy channel Friend Dog Studios (currently on hiatus) has a strong audience and an extensive catalogue of podcasts and web videos, including a few viral hits.
